We are SO back! 👽🛸

Helloooo critters!

It’s been awhile since I dusted off the ole substack to share some fresh snughoul news, but now I have some plushie news outside of the scope of Series 2 and Pintopia so what better time to revive this place.

Before I dive in I want to shout out the Snughoul Discord were all these things are shared right as they pop into my head (farm to table, sleepless artist style baybee!!) The feedback I receive there often shapes the direction of future projects, so if you want the hottest of hot goss (aka silly cryptid drawings and their even sillier plush counterparts) and to have a say in some snughoul shenanigans, then join us!!

Now buckle up, cause we’ve got some critters to get excited about!

Pants (Fresno Nightcrawler)

Pants is the lovechild of an offhand discord comment and my overactive imagination, and he is perfection. Just last month the prototype was finalized so in theory Pants is ready to go, he just needs you fine folks to adopt him!

To that end preorders for the nightcrawler snughoul are estimated to open in October. These will be hosted through the tinyteeth.shop storefront (future home of the rest of the snughouls too!) so mark those calendars.

Like all snughouls he will be $65, but unlike his many cousins Pants also has a weighted bottom and paws. The effect this will have on shipping costs (if any) is still to be determined so stay tuned for those details closer to his preorder date.

Wyrm on a String

What happens when you give a worm paws and loveable puppy dog eyes? This guy. Another highly self indulgent creature, Wyrm is ENORMOUS and is being fine-tuned as we speak!

While the first sample is undeniably cute, the crispiness of the faux fur kind of defeats the purpose of having a huge, fluffy wyrm to snuggle with so we’ve gone back to the drawing board for the timing being.

We have two different furs and various levels of fluffiness we’re exploring, as well as really dialing in the proportions for a Wyrm that is both squishy and posable.

Wyrm is very much in the “trust the process” phase of prototyping, so I don’t have an ETA on preorders, how much he’ll cost, or what colors he’ll come in, but am looking forward to thinking about those things soon!

Chupacabra (affectionately known as Chupie for now)

Another creature born from a crazed, 3am doodle sesh, Chupie is my baby. Pure self indulgence with disgusting(ly cute) buggy eyes, a hunch back, and not a single brain cell piloting that big, goofus body.

Remarkably the first sample was really, really good! This is my most complicated design yet and they nailed so many important elements that I’m feeling super positive about Chupie’s overall trajectory.

Again it is much too early to know when he’ll be ready for preorders, but if I can swing 2024 I will!

Other Little Guys

With Series 3 right around the corner, I’ve been jotting down anything and everything that feels fun. I love all of these critters and hope to bring each and every one of them to fruition some day.

The kraken is guaranteed for series 3!
